The Moonbeam children continue to take Magical Mindfulness to the next level. These youngsters have adopted the act of self-actualization and incorporated these practices into each day at Magic Garden! The girls and boys took part in “The Many Pieces of Me” activity. After listening to a literature selection, the students took part in a brainstorming session as a large group. They were prompted to consider aspects of each day that they love. This included family, friends, school, colors and toys! Some children responded by exclaiming, “My friends when they play with me!” One pupil replied, “I love squishing Playdough with my mommy.” Another kiddo said, “My teachers and my friends!” Children’s author and illustrator, Michael Hall has been a central influence in this venture. His book, My Heart is Like a Zoo has been a classroom favorite. Exploring emotions, sympathy and empathy, the children look forward to an upcoming mathematics-themed art experience. Very fun! Do visit our display in the corridor!
Up next: the Moonbeam children help to celebrate Cradles to Crayons, a joint community outreach program (championed by our own faculty member Ms. Elizabeth Lincoln!) in conjunction with our hometown boys the Boston Bruins!
