Lately, you’ve heard your child singing, “Fuzzy Caterpillar, wiggled up a tree. He wiggled long, he wiggled short, he wiggled right at me!” The Rainbow children welcomed some new friends into the classroom. Caterpillars! Housed inside a bungalow net, these critters crawled, munched and squirmed about on a daily basis. Our girls and boys were absolutely astounded by all the activity! Soon, these insects spun into chrysalids and, after a great deal of waiting…butterflies emerged! The Rainbow students all took turns acting out this process. They crawled through gross-motor tunnels, spinning, turning and emerging as beautiful toddler butterflies. They used scarves to flap their wings round and round! Wow! So long, butterflies!
