“Run, run as fast as you can!” During whole group story times, the afternoon Starlight crew continues to enjoy the timeless preschool classic, The Gingerbread Man. Of course, there are countless versions of this tale, including The Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett. Expanding on the children’s interest, our girls and boys all took part in a collaborative art venture. Using butcher paper and crayons, the Starlight crew crafted their own gingerbread people. They even used buttons to embellish their creations. This was the perfect opportunity to flex some math muscles. Our kiddos counted, patterned and sorted their buttons. Do visit our spirited hallway display!
The Twilight crew delights in all sensory activities. This includes Play Dough, water and floam. Recently, the children explored a new material: terra cotta clay! One student proclaimed, “It’s so hard!” After using their fingers to manipulate the substance, the children were offered tools such as wooden dowels. They had a blast carving designs and indentations. We look forward to watching this adventure unfolding. Check out the wonderful pictures!
