The Rainbow Room infuses infusing each day with mindfulness practices. For instance, when we need to “re-center,” we direct the children to “blow a bubble of silence.” As their cheeks fill up, the room grows calm and peaceful. This is our version of deep breathing. Ommmm. The Rainbow Room got to thinking…what about other kinds of bubbles? Our students took part in a bubble scavenger hunt. And they spotted them everywhere! In our fish tank! In the sink during hand washing! At Choice Time, the children had a ball sudsing up in the sensory table. They also made shaving cream foam letters and, during movement time, pretended to be bouncing, floating bubbles themselves. Pop! Accessing Science exploration, the girls and boys joined Ms. Melyssa for a very cool hands-on experiment. The kiddos were given a small cup of cola and a salt shaker. Our little scientists made predictions concerning what might happen when the two substances met. Alas, salt creates more carbonation, illustrating changing properties! Check out all the frothy fun!
